This morning #my country's broadband download speed is getting faster and faster# suddenly appeared on the hot search. Since the "speed increase and fee reduction" was first proposed in 2015, big data shows that the average download speed of my country's broadband network has increased by 14 times, and network tariffs have dropped by 95%.


Did you drag your feet once? According to the news published by the People's Daily, in 2015, my country put forward the goal of "speeding up and lowering fees", hoping to increase the download rate of the network and reduce the tariff level of consumers. After seven years of hard work, great achievements have been made. Compared with 2014, the average download rate of broadband has increased from 4.25Mbps to 62.5Mbps by the end of 2021, an increase of nearly 14 times; the average rate of traffic per unit has dropped by more than 95%. According to the "National Mobile Network Quality Monitoring Report" released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology on June 6 this year, my country's 5G network test samples accounted for more than 70% in the first quarter of this year, and the network speed access rate was significantly improved compared to 4G. On the one hand, it reflects our gradual improvement in 5G network coverage, and on the other hand, it also shows that the public attaches great importance to the development of 5G network and pays more attention to new technologies.

In the first half of this year, the average downlink rate of the national 5G network was 334.98Mbps and the download rate was 70.21Mbps, which were nearly ten times and three times higher than that of the 4G network, respectively. Among them, Shanghai has the highest download rate, with an average download rate of 462.93Mbps, and Henan Province, which has the lowest download rate, has 279.98Mbps, both of which are significantly higher than the 4G network.


The substantial increase in traffic is due to the rapid popularization of 5G mobile phones. At the end of 2019, my country's commercial 5G network has been widely used in the past three years. The speed of network popularization in my country is constantly advancing, and mobile phone manufacturers and operators complement each other, laying a solid foundation for the rapid popularization of 5G networks.
